1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Ryan Evans ("I", "me", or "my") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit https://ryanevansdev.com. I collect only what is necessary to operate the Site and respond to inquiries.

2. Information I Collect

Contact form submissions. When you submit the contact form, I collect your name, email address, and message content. This is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Analytics data. I use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with Consent Mode v2 to understand how visitors use the Site. GA4 may collect anonymized data including pages visited, time on site, browser type, device type, and general geographic region. This data is aggregated and cannot identify you personally. Analytics cookies are only set after you grant consent via the cookie banner.

Cookies. The Site uses a strictly necessary cookie to remember your consent preference. No tracking or advertising cookies are set without your explicit consent.

Server logs. My hosting provider (GitHub Pages / Cloudflare) may automatically log standard server data including IP addresses, request timestamps, and referring URLs for security and infrastructure purposes.

3. How I Use Your Information

Information collected through this Site is used to:

  • Respond to project inquiries submitted via the contact form

  • Understand how visitors navigate the Site to improve content and usability

  • Maintain the security and performance of the Site

I do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Third-Party Services

Google Analytics 4. When analytics consent is granted, data is transmitted to Google's servers. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

GitHub Pages / Cloudflare. The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages with Cloudflare for DNS and performance. These providers may process request metadata per their own privacy policies.

No advertising networks, data brokers, or social media tracking pixels are used on this Site.

5. Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained only as long as necessary to complete the communication and any resulting engagement. Analytics data is retained per Google's standard GA4 retention settings (up to 14 months).

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data I hold about you

  • Request correction or deletion of your personal data

  • Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time via the cookie banner

  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

7. Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this Site, please contact me so I can delete it.

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
