Hata Advising
A Salt Lake Valley CFO firm that did not appear on Google Maps anywhere in its own service area. Ten days of tracked scans later it ranks at 6 of 25 grid points for its core term, holding No. 1 and No. 2 at the points nearest the office.

Ten days, four scans
Every Monday the same grid runs again: 25 search points spread across a 7 mile radius of the office, each one checked for where Hata Advising ranks on Google Maps. This is the whole history, including the week nothing moved.
September 11, 2026
Baseline: invisible
First scan. Nine scans across seven keywords, and not one of them placed in the top 20 at any of the 25 points.
September 12, 2026
Confirmed, not a fluke
Re-scan on the five keywords that matter commercially. Same answer: none of them in the top 20 at any point on the grid.
September 14, 2026
First points on the board
"Accounting firm" appears at 3 of the 25 points, one of them already inside the top 3. "Fractional cfo services" lands at rank 8 on one point.
September 21, 2026
Doubled, and holding No. 1
"Accounting firm" doubles to 6 of 25 points at an average rank of 6.3 where it appears, with No. 1 and No. 2 at the two points nearest the office. "Cpa for contractors" joins the board at rank 7.
Still open
Two keywords have not moved
"Outsourced cfo" and "bookkeeping for contractors" are still outside the top 20 at all 25 points. Both stay in the weekly scan until they move.

The problem
Hata Advising sells CFO-level financial leadership to owner-led construction, manufacturing and home services companies around Salt Lake City. The people who need that service look for it the way everyone looks for a local professional now: a map, a few names, a phone number. Hata was not on that map. A 25 point grid stretched across a 7 mile radius of the office found the firm in the top 20 at zero of those points, for every keyword tested, against 192 other firms competing in the same square.
What was measured
Before anything else, the target got instrumented. Five commercial keywords went into a weekly Google Maps rank scan: a 5 by 5 grid of 25 search points spread across a 7 mile radius, re-run every Monday. Each scan records where the business ranks at every individual point, so the report is not a single national number but a map of the neighborhoods where the firm is findable and the ones where it is not.
What the scans show
The baseline on September 11 and 12 was blank: not in the top 20 at any of the 25 points, on any of the five tracked keywords. The September 14 scan picked up the first movement, with "accounting firm" surfacing at 3 points and one of them already inside the top 3. By September 21 that keyword appeared at 6 of the 25 points at an average rank of 6.3 where it appeared, holding No. 1 and No. 2 at the two points nearest the office. "Fractional cfo services" and "cpa for contractors" each came in at one point, at rank 4 and rank 7.
What has not moved
Two of the five tracked keywords, "outsourced cfo" and "bookkeeping for contractors", are still outside the top 20 at all 25 points. They are staying in the tracker. A ten day window is one data point in a trend, not a finished result, and the scans that say the work is landing are the same scans that say two terms have not.
